avoiding strife!

There are people who love to argue…..but the bible says:

“But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife” (2 Timothy 2:23).

strife: vigorous or bitter conflict, discord, or antagonism: to be at strife. a quarrel, struggle, or clash.”

Proverbs 6:16-19 King James Version (KJV) says this:

“16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
So if we want to be Holy, we need to pray and concern ourselves with where our heart is.

Do we love strife? Sowing Discord? If so, it’s really not God’s way. We think it’s fun (at times) it reminds us of those playground confrontations when everyone stands around saying “Fight Fight Fight.”

Strife is a thing of the flesh, it’s normal to want to argue when we are passionate about something, but the truth is, it never leads to inspired revelation and truth.

God’s way is to speak to us in the Secret place, (away from clamoring and strife!). The wisdom from above is gentle, peaceable, full of Mercy and Good fruit!. If we remember this, we walk in Gods ways. If we walk in his ways (and not our own) we are becoming “like him.” This is God’s #1 dream for us, “Being Transformed” “Becoming like him!”. It’s part of the Salvation process! God never intended to leave us the way we are.

Let’s pray;

“Father forgive us for the times we argue, strive, sow discord, and do not reflect YOU! “Have mercy on us Father, help us to listen to you!! We humble ourselves and admit, in many ways we have failed to hit the mark.
Please help us to grow in Grace and the knowledge of you Father! Forgive us for thinking we’ve arrived or that we are better than others. In Jesus’ name we pray. amen”
