The secret place……..

The Secret Place:

I have decided to do some excerps from the book “Living Safely in a dangerous world” by Mac Hammond Here is today’s excerp: “Psalm 91 is born of Moses’ personal experience with God the deliverer.

Notice the first verse: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Immediately, Moses tells us of a special place he calls “the secret place of the most High.” We’re told it is possible to “dwell” there. The Hebrew word translated “dwell” literally means “to stake a claim to” or “to remain.”

The Secret Place of God is not a place you can slip in and out of from hour to hour. It’s not a position that is attained one moment and lost another. To truly abide in the Secret Place requires living there. It’s a lifestyle. What is the result of living in this Secret Place? The second half of the verse tells us: you “shall abide under the shadow ofthe Almighty.” Throughout the Bible, the concept of a shadow is used to symbolize God’s anointing and covering presence.”

Let’s Pray: “Father we thank you that you want us living in this secret place! It’s also mentioned in 1 John when you said “abide in me” and we ask you this, Father, let your words abide or live in us and help us to live IN YOU. In our minds and in our hearts Father let your word take precedence in our very lives. in Jesus’ name ………Amen.”

“in Him” (1 John) and Psalm 91: It’s bigger than we think it is!

I was studying John 6 today, and looking at how Jesus was trying to get across the concept that “He is Bread.” With the Help of the Holy Spirit,

I also noted that his followers were just fascinated with the feeding of the 5000, and the loaves and fishes. He spoke to me to cross reference as I studied, and Isaiah 54 just jumped off the page at me, where it says this:

“IN Righteousness you will be established.” “Oppression will be far from you.” (these go together). IS 54:13-14

At some point in my Study the Holy Spirit said “In Him,” In Righteousness, IN the Secret Place (Psalm 91) are all the same thing!” I have known for a long time being “IN HIM.’ is Key.

How do we get that way? WE LET HIM IN! It’s so simple my friends, we just let him in, and invite the Holy Spirit To teach us.

I asked the Lord, why do some people seem to be so spiritual and so sensitive to your Spirit? Again, They just BELIEVE (to hear from Him). It’s not that complicated! If you don’t beleive me, Read John 6 (the whole thing).

The Secret Place, and the King of my Heart

The Secret Place (Psalm 91) is your refuge in Him! it reminds me of the sacred intimacy between a husband and wife. There are certain times it should only be “You and Your Lord.”

I remember when I first fell in Love with Jesus, and finally gave him my heart. I had no interest in joining some “church club” as i was having a lot more fun at the bar (at the time).

Jesus woo’ed me and caused me to fall in love wtih HIM! Nothing gets between me and Jesus.

Nobody can take his place in my heart.

And nobody ever should!

He is #1 and that’s the way it should be.

I love doing things for people, serving in Jesus’ name, and all of that-but activity should never replace intimacy with Jesus.

After all, if you lose your connection with him, what Good can we possibly do for others?

John 15 “I am the vine, you are the branches, apart from me, you can do nothing” (words of Jesus).The Lord is your refuge! 
(and your secret place).

He is the King of My Heart….and I will never apologize for this.
