The Funeral Service: When I was giving up………
So I gave it to God instead.
This is me about 16 years ago. i had been praying about some things for years at that point, and while yes God was always answering my prayers for love, fruitfulness, “things of Him”
I had some other things on the list and I remembered the sermons on dying to self, dying daily……’dead to sin” “alive to Christ.”
So I decided to have a funeral service, and go through the narrow door and say Okay Father “I want you” so I’m giving all this to you…..
If you want it to come true, “I trust you for it” and if it’s not good for me OH WELL!” I accept your Will. I made these little tombstones and gued them onto a piece of paper. Prayed, and had an actual funeral service for my dreams but I did say “I believe in your resurrection power!
Among the dreams I Laid to rest were a 12 string guitar, being used in Music in church (Which I have served in three churches now playing guitar and singing) having my own business, which has happened, writing books (which has happened) Owning a Jeep (I’ve had two) Owning my own house (we own two) PETS because My kids could never have them and I have dogs, they have dogs or in my daughters case Dogs and a Cat……
There were a few more I”ll have to look in my Journal but, I’m pretty sure every thing on that list has happened.
so If you can’t take it anymore (the pain of broken dreams) You can give it to God. Let him Know I”ve had Faith and I do but I will NOT give up on you!!! And yes my decision was based on the book of Job “even if you slay me, I trust you!!”
