Building in God #5 Staying Humble

I want to share the following passage with you today:
“Better a dry crust with peace” than feasting with strife” Is a passage that has come to me over and over again. (Proverbs 17:1)
I want all God has for me and I do not wish to miss out on ANYTHING he has for me…..

However, I have (in the past) given up a table of love and humility to try and chase after prosperity and “all of God’s blessings” …..it’s not worth it.
If you gain the (whole world) and lose your soul-what have we gained? Nothing!

I am reminded of the song long ago by Casting Crowns, which had a huge impact me, when we managed a motel. We worked 70 hours a week and I had time for NO ONE …We prospered but our souls were eroded being so busy all the time…….

And to think I wanted to buy it. (silly me!)

Sometimes I feel like I’m almost getting that busy again, and I do not like it. There needs to be time for God time for rest, time for visiting those I love……..

Or what is the meaning of it all? This song is convicting …..and
very true (On the subject of Building on the rock)
Jesus said the Kingdom of God is like a pearl …..a man sold all he had to obtain it.  What price are we willing to pay? (or ot pay) to get God’s word into our hearts?
                                              (Matthew 13:45-46)
