What does Matthew 5:6 really mean? Bread of Life
What does it mean to hunger and thirst after righteousness?
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Good Morning!
In John 6:36 Jesus also declare Himself to be the bread of life. He said
so long as we are trusting in Him, we will never be hungry (or thirsty).
This morning, the Holy Spirit was touching my heart about this very subject.
You know, if we have a cup and it’s filled with say, Cheetos, we won’t be able to put much of anything else in that container. There is nothing wrong with gaining knowledge about a particular subject. Because Jesus intended for us to have a relationship with Him, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, there is not a one-size-fits-all method for being in right standing with God, that is to say, His righteousness.
God wants to touch us (by His Spirit) on what we should be trusting Him for, or about.
Many people do not wish to believe this, but God will not force his correction, conviction, or His wisdom upon you. We still have to seek it. This is why I know, if I have sincerely sought God for his wisdom (and His righteousness) and have deliberately cast to the ground any so called “knowledge” that is so treasured by man, saying “okay Father” I cast down this idol, I cast down this supposed knowledge I have gained and I say to you “YOUR WISDOM” is more precious than anything I think I know…………” So please, “tell me the
truth” about this situation Father……” I will gain and possess his Wisdom on the matter, which is also “HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Right standing with God means putting him First in all situations, it does not mean keeping a book of rules and regulations. We can never be Justified in this way. How do I know? Because He said so! And, He is Lord!
With love to you all, Thank you Jesus, for being my Bread of Life.
