People often say we don’t give to “get’ and that is true. However, in Matthew 7,
Jesus said, Judge not lest you be judged, “and what measure” of judgment you measure will be measured back to you. Judgment is not an opinion on something, judgement is a DECISION. Think about this for a minute. It’s a decision, how you respond, or what you do about it. When a Judge pronounces a sentence he has made a decision. He may not like the person in front of him, but he (hopefully) Makes a decision based on the whole truth, not just part of the truth.
When someone is driving too fast in bad weather it’s called “a bad judgement” ….therefore, doing unto others as we would have done unto us, is also in this category of Judgments (decisi…ons based on what we believe about a person or situation).
so Love makes righteous Judgements (decisions), as we are led by the Holy Spirit. So if you wish to be listened to, listen. If you hope to be strengthened in faith, give that too. If you want to be encouraged, encourage others as well. Give what you would like to receive, no matter what others are doing. A worthy goal? Yes?
