What we Sow: Life or Corruption?

broken chains

Sowing to the flesh reaps corruption. Just as sowing good seed grows good crops, so does sowing “the weeds” of the thoughts and thinking of this world does grow, and produce corruption. While we may be under Grace and not law, we do well to remember that we do reap what we sow. Even nature teaches us this. People who do not even know God walk in this principle all the time. Heroes, Famous people, Athletes, and all kinds of successful people tap into the sowing and reaping principle by leading disciplined lives.

What God calls evil is to simply not allow his word or his blessing and influence into our hearts and minds. We who do so are making a very wise decision. Let’s press on! And if you sometimes wonder why you are doing it; Here is a little reminder. To stop and arrest the process of corruption is good enough reason for me. -Laura Grace

For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:8

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

It turns out for good…..

RVB de base

The way it turns out for our good all this evil going on is this: It creates an atmosphere to hunger and thirst for rightesousness.

So then; even what is evil God turns out for HIS good! -LG (Romans 8)

Father right now in the name of Jesus: I PRAY everyone who reads this would have a hunger and thirst for righteousness.

In Jesus’ name! Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteoussness, for they shall be filled.”

He endured Betrayal, suffering and pain……

Luke 6:11 “They were filled with rage, and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.” This was after Jesus entered the Synagogue and healed a man on the Sabbath.

Jesus asked the pointed question: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil?” An interesting question.

See, they just sat around looking to find fault with him all the time. “Look, I think he’s about to break the law!”

From the day he announced he was the son of God -many were out to prove he wasn’t. Such was the life of Our Jesus.

He endured rejection, false accusations, betrayal:

And went to the cross anyway. ‪#‎myJesus    Laura Grace

What are you Sowing?

SEEDS!!!!.jpgSEEDS PIC

Hello! I was just thinking about seeds the other day. Thoughts we think; things we say; and how we often do not stop and think about what we are sowing.

There’s been times I have not sown such positive seeds and in the future; was not very happy with myself because I was careless. Other times I did sow very good seeds and when I saw the plant, tree and fruit of that spring up; I really rejoiced!

There is a lot of work that goes into farming. Plowing the soil; all the rocks have to be removed and us (hard heads at times) need some rocks of bad thinking plucked right out of our head! I have a friend that said she liked a post I recently made and I thought I would repeat what I said.

Here’s an example of seeds. Someone said as a child (to me) I should never wear white shoes until after labor day. It was a belief based on the fact after fall things get muddy; white shoes were not so practical to wear. It was probably a smart standard but later it turned into a rule and people were saying; “You should not” wear white shoes after labor day. One day some smart young girl had the guts to say; “WHY?” It’s a perfectly nice day and I like my white shoes! And tradition was broken that day by a new concept.

Whoever was passing along this “rule’ never stopped to think maybe someone only owned one pair of shoes (white) or perhaps that pair was their favorite pair that made them feel blessed when they wore them. What did it hurt to wear white shoes after labor day? Was anyone truly harmed by the infraction of the rule breaking?

In our society; everyone has quibbled over things from women wearing dresses (or not) to what is the proper way to wear their hair. Women of all people have been subject to more rules than you can shake a stick at throughout history; and some young gal always comes along and says; “Why?” In the same way, Christians I believe sometimes need to stop and pray and ask themselves why they do the things they do. Is this helpful? Does it really make someone more free to love God; or does it hinder them from enjoying his blessing?

We need to stop and think about the things we say and stop and think about how even a vote for a certain rule or new law may affect someone else. God sees the whole picture and he sees how what we do will either liberate (or harm) others. He sees all that may be hurt by this thought, this rule, this law that we think will be so wonderful.

Sometimes we forget that Jesus called some fishermen and said “come, follow me” and they chose whether to follow or not. Jesus did not make laws that everyone would bow to him or his ways, he preached freedom to choose (life or death.) As Christians we do well to remember how Jesus really was; He was a seed planter, and a seed water-er as well.

He went about doing good and many followed him. Other wanted to kill him, get rid of him and shut him up! Why? Because they were the ones who wanted everyone to bow to them and their ways. They could not stand that Jesus and his words of life was inspiring such freely- given loyalty. In their jealousy, they wanted to crush him and make him bow.

They tried to find a law he must have broken in order to have a reason to kill him. Now tell me: what did Jesus really preach? More laws; or did he preach freedom? Even though he did know the best way for mankind and did know what was best for us; I do not see where he ever went out and tried to get man to make more laws and enforce them.

Jesus was a preacher of freedom (to choose) Wasn’t he? One of the first seeds he planted in my mind was: “I came to make you free.”

What taking the name of the Lord in Vain Actually IS by Laura Grace

Galatians 2:21 Says: Not to set aside the Grace of God. If you believe righteousness is attained by keeping the Law, Christ died in Vain. So if we take his name (Christian) and we believe keeping the law makes us righteous: we are taking the name of the Lord “in Vain” (do you see now?)

We talk about Grace and amazing Grace and so many act like they know what it all means: but the truth is: acting like we can earn something God paid such a high price for (the death of his beloved and innocent son!) is a real smack in God’s face. So if you want to repent and turn away from your sins: turn away from being self righteous and holier than thou and actually turn to Christ; the one who died for you-and follow him! -Laura GraceCOURAGEOUS

Is any body listening? Transforming is building!

LIGHT HOUSE

Building Your house on the Rock is the same thing as being transformed by the renewing of your mind. You know I was born in this Old Hospital, some nuns had a vision and prayed and the money was raised (back in the day) and the hospital was built. I’m sure they praised God at the time; many benefited from this Hospital through the years.

When a new facility was needed and built; the place was turned into a Condo. Now that building is enjoyed and lived in by many residents there. Many things were taken out of the building and new things were put IN during the transformation process. The building is very beautiful indeed. When our old way of thinking isn’t working for us anymore it’s time to find out some new things (from the Lord).

It doesn’t mean we are unholy, not sentimental or that we disrespect the things of the past we just need “new thoughts” to help us with what is needed right now. The foundation remains the same; the basic structure is there but please don’t be afraid to let God teach you new things. You may find he just wants to beautify you even more (and make you more useful in his Kingdom). amen -Laura Grace author Grace to Grow and Grace to Grow Study guide (soon to be published!!) stay tuned!

Growing hurts a little…..Let’s face it

I have to tell you: being thankful for correction does NOT come easy for me. Does it for you? They call it constructive criticism; but so many times in my life it seemed to come at such an inopportune time. I am learning to appreciate correction; but it’s hard sometimes. There are times we want to say: “Really Lord, can you focus on someone else for awhile?”

The truth is we are not “under” the law according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. However; I have studied my bible enough to know that being wise beneficial. There is such a vast treasure of wisdom in God’s treasure box, it’s just incredible. Truly.

I remember that time I over drew the bank account and started begging for Mercy. Deep down we know when we messed up. We do. God put our conscience there for a reason.

I remember lots of times I pushed the envelope so to speak; because I thought well I’m not under law but Grace! I can walk on a tight rope and defy the law of gravity if I want to but sooner or later it will catch up to me and I just may fall. Nothing like a scrape and a goose egg to make us re think our choices, right?

My cries for wisdom came from being prone to foolishness which led to some very dire consequences at times. I think of Paul saying “who shall deliver me from this body of death” and a branch of that is: “Who shall deliver me from my foolish ways?”

Truthfully, we may have good reason at times to be angry, upset and flip out but what good does that do us? And does it really help us in the long run to do those things? (or anyone else for that matter?) That’s the sort of thing wise people ask themselves. Just yesterday I forgot again that pity parties and fits of carnality do not ever help me. Half way into a big pity party I stopped and remembered: ‘oh yeah, this never helps! can you relate?

Just on the journey with you by his Grace,

What we listen to……..hurts or helps

In Psalm 91 it says No evil shall befall you neither shall any plague come nigh your dwelling. I often say out Loud no Plague shall come near me. Meditating on and speaking the word of God is a good way to build ourselves up in Faith.

Every day we hear and receive negative input so why not deliberately choose to listen to His Holy Truths? I dare say just listening to bad reports all day about sickness and disease is about as unwise as listening to an Atheist blither on all day as to why he thinks there is no God. Feeding on that stuff will get to you eventually just like bad food hurts your actual body.

What we allow into our heart is more important than what we eat or drink. What we allow into our soul will determine our state of spiritual health. be Careful what you “drink” or eat on a daily basis. Spiritually speaking of course.Of course be prepared for the fact people think you are nuts when you are a spiritual health nut! it goes with the turf. ‪#‎behealthy‬ #growing #growing in Grace
