What does Matthew 5:6 really mean? Bread of Life

bread of life

What does it mean to hunger and thirst after righteousness?
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Good Morning!
In John 6:36 Jesus also declare Himself to be the bread of life. He said
so long as we are trusting in Him, we will never be hungry (or thirsty).
This morning, the Holy Spirit was touching my heart about this very subject.
You know, if we have a cup and it’s filled with say, Cheetos, we won’t be able to put much of anything else in that container. There is nothing wrong with gaining knowledge about a particular subject. Because Jesus intended for us to have a relationship with Him, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, there is not a one-size-fits-all method for being in right standing with God, that is to say, His righteousness.
God wants to touch us (by His Spirit) on what we should be trusting Him for, or about.
Many people do not wish to believe this, but God will not force his correction, conviction, or His wisdom upon you. We still have to seek it. This is why I know, if I have sincerely sought God for his wisdom (and His righteousness) and have deliberately cast to the ground any so called “knowledge” that is so treasured by man, saying “okay Father” I cast down this idol, I cast down this supposed knowledge I have gained and I say to you “YOUR WISDOM” is more precious than anything I think I know…………” So please, “tell me the
truth” about this situation Father……” I will gain and possess his Wisdom on the matter, which is also “HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Right standing with God means putting him First in all situations, it does not mean keeping a book of rules and regulations. We can never be Justified in this way. How do I know? Because He said so! And, He is Lord!
With love to you all, Thank you Jesus, for being my Bread of Life.

The Miracle Motel Job

The year was 2002. God had just led me to walk out of a 16 year marital union that was nothing God ever intended for my life. Yes I agreed to be married to this man. I did. I made a vow and eventually broke it (as sin) but the vow was never a bright idea in the first place.

Did you know breaking vows is a sin? Making them without praying about it is a sin as well. We are sinners, before we come to Christ, and we made messes of our lives. It was either cut of my arm or be dragged to hell with him, so I left. And God said I could.

The bus pulled into the small town in MT, and I got off the bus and stayed at a local motel. After a few days, I moved to a motel with a better weekly deal, and spent most of my time in that room praying and seeking God.

I really was looking for work and asking Him where I should work, and it kept coming to me over and over I should work at this motel I was staying in. Based on that inkling, I inquired about working there, and they didn’t need anyone.

When my unemployment was almost gone, I had a friend tell me I should leave this town, a praying friend, I might add, one I looked up to who was a leader in church at one time.

I left, and not long after, the manager of that motel walked off the job. Someone else took over, I was gone to Washington State and then to a bigger city in MT. My address changed, I travelled around and worked, but I had sent a letter to the owners of the motel asking if they ever had an opening to contact me. This was all because of that inkling I had I should work there. In 2004, we were settled and had purchased a mobile home, I was with Tim by this time. (My current husband of 14 years) and we got a call, I really have no idea how they found me, but it was the owners of the motel. They offered us a management job.

We prayed, told them if our mobile home did not sell in 30 days, we could not come or take the job. They were willing to wait. Thirty days later, at the exact time we said (to the Lord) we will not go unless the mobile sells at this time, on this day……we were sitting on the courthouse steps counting the cash for the exact price we had asked and stuck to.

With my son Thomas in tow we walked into a job we had never done, in a town we did not know very well, in the beginning of summer with it full, and going full steam. We were given about 2-3 hours of instructions, and there we were, running a motel.

I remember my husband saying “what if we fail?” “what if they fire us?” What will we do then?” See, I had an indicator in my heart, 2 years before this job happened, of what God wanted to do. And, He did it! When we took this job, it was intensely scary, but exciting all at the same time. Whenever I think of Miracles, I think about this (and many other times) I just had to GO and do what God was asking. But here’s the thing, he did provide (before we went) because when he wants to do something, it will happen, even chase you down if you give up on it. This is what I believe, we receive by faith What God says He will do for us and then, He does it! In His time. -From the stories of Grace to the Rescue, by Laura Grace

I’m a Pioneer (part 2) The spirit of anti-christ

When I was married to a drug addict who lied all the time, convinced me to believe things were going to be different, only to do the same things over and over, trust me when I say, it was hard sometimes to not become bitter, or even cynical.

Grace to the rescue cover0002Loving a guy on the street who is homeless, praying for him, and all that, is great, (and showing love) but a person who has never been married to a con artist, continual liar, or one who continues to resist God (all the time, at every turn) has truly no idea what that type of life is like.

We read stories of Pioneers, how women were raped, taken captive, and about men who beat their wives back then and bragged about it. We are horrified, yet we cannot truly imagine it. Now, we have a nation afraid, because for those who understand the tyranny of religion that endorses female mutilation, child-brides, or actually killing people who do not bow to their religion, well they are truly frightened indeed.

The children of Israel, long ago, became bitter over what they suffered and had to be healed of it. I believe bitterness sets in when we have believed wrongly that God will fix everything in our lives and make all our dreams come true, and then when it doesn’t happen, we have the choice to accept that suffering disappointment is part of our Journey or, we can dwell on the disappointment and eventually become bitter.

Many fell away from Jesus when they realized he was not coming to rule Rome at that time, or overthrow the wickedness in the government once and for all. Jesus is not going to rule and reign until it’s time. Now, He is willing to rule and reign over YOU if you’ll allow it (and give you much Joy.) Listen, here’s the thing. When someone is embracing the spirit of anti-Christ, that is to say, rejecting God’s way of doing things, not wanting God’s council, not wanting the Spirit of God’s input, not wanting wisdom,

and wanting nothing to do with Jesus’s “advice” If you will, and then they gather supporters to rally with them for THEIR CAUSE and not the cause of Christ, what do you think will happen? You will be outnumbered. When this happens, we have to pray for a way of escape. The sooner we realize God really will build us a hiding place, IN HIM, the better off we will be. The spirit of anti-Christ has always been at work, just for some, it has not been at their door until now. We need to grow and mature in Christ, to the point we can stand up to these things and not be shaken by it.

A mature Christian realizes no matter how many devils you cast out, there will always be more. They realize the ROCK Of revelation (to us personally) is what our house needs to be built on, and they realize the very pearls and gems of God’s wisdom needs to become real to them. These are the precious stones we build with, if we want to remain secure and unshaken. It’s a heart thing. Make up your mind to get the word of God deep in your heart today and let it become such a part of you, that you will not be shaken. And by the way, God did preserve and Protect me and my faith in Him during some extremely turbulent times. And He can do it for you as well.

I am a Spiritual Pioneer……..Part 1

SPIRITUAL PIONEERS.jpgI am a spiritual Pioneer, and my journey started a very long time ago. A long time ago I was a Lutheran, and I attended Lutheran church, then Church camp.

I grieved over what growing up meant in that situation, because it meant we no longer looked at the miracles of Jesus with awe and wonder, and the colorful pictures of Jesus walking on the sea, and the feeding of the 5000, and all the other things we talked about as kids in bible study, was replaced with liturgies, somber songs, and just plain boring. I became a Spiritual Pioneer, because when my spouse was addicted to drugs and drinking and my life was upside down instead of right side up, we were sent to secular counselling and it didn’t help.

I became a spiritual pioneer, because every time I went to church the words they were saying did not quite help me, or really fit the bill.

I’ve been to Baptist churches, Catholic, Pentecostal, Assembly of God, Presbyterian, Southern Baptist, Church of Christ, Church of this, church of that. They all do a great job of reminding me Jesus is Lord, but none have all the answers. When my kids were bullied and there was no bully policy in place (yet) Nobody knew what to say. Churches sent me to secular programs that couldn’t help, because for one reason or another, I always fell through the cracks. I was emotionally abused so “Help” was several years away on the secular program rosters. Housing for poverty stricken times was often elusive, food stamps cut off if the spouse will not attend the requirements, and so on.

Pat answers never worked for me. I could not afford to attend mega-conferences that are free so long as you can afford 300.00 for a motel and 100.00 for eating. I became a Spiritual Pioneer, because People were coming to me for answers, prayer and support because they heard I was a Christian, but I had no idea what to say to them. Often they would tell me they went to the pastor, he said he would pray but had no idea how to help their situation. Why? Because pastors and people who attend church all the time usually do not have situations fraught with drinking, drugging, criminal behavior, dysfunctional ways, abuse………………….

Nobody knew how to handle that stuff. I needed to get through a whole lot of stuff (bad stuff) that the word or the church did not truly know how to help me with…….because my situation never quite fit into the boxes that were already lovingly labeled and set out on the table for the master’s use………

I am a spiritual Pioneer………….(this was part 1) Laura Grace

God wants to know…..how to help you!

A ROSE IN BLOOMme in the light

Good Morning! As I was having my coffee this morning and praying, It occurred to me, how many of us just need the Lord’s help today. Don’t we? I could hear so many hearts out there just crying out, “Do I make a difference?” Or even “God do you really even care about my problem today?” Does Growing up mean “get over yourself?”

You know, the disciples asked a lot of questions (of the Lord) Off to the side, where it’s not even printed in our bibles. Every conversation they had IS NOT written down. It could not possibly be? Have you seen your bible? Do you think it really includes every conversation they had? I believe the most important ones are written down, but honesty in today’s world we need to know GOD IS THERE and HE DOES CARE! I love prophecy, but one word does not fit all, not even one solution (given in a sermon) addresses every problem.

So what do you really need from God today? He wants to help. He is not limited by church services, podcasts, no, not even limited to the books we write. He’s not hindered or limited by your mistakes, your past, or even your future. He does not say- “Sorry, I can’t help you, you’ve messed up too much and are not worthy of my intervention or help.”

When he said look at the lilies of the field, He was not saying “go naked!” He simply wants us to learn not to worry, how to cast our cares on Him, how to trust him about every little thing. For everything that matters to us, also matters to Him! So be brave, ask Him what you want help with today. He loves you! He loves you more than any man ever could. He loves you more than any parent ever could. If some religious nut that didn’t know Jesus very well beat you up, please don’t let that stop you from coming to Jesus. He is not like that, in fact he gave the religious meanies a beating in His Holy word to show you, he is not in agreement with that kind of mean fanatical and unholy junk! “HYPOCRITES” HE

said to them. “you heap burdens and don’t lift a finger to help them” (Jesus said) so ……we do know HE WANTS TO Help lift your burdens, He does care. Jesus is worthy of our Praises. And what I want to do is HELP promote a God whose love knows no limits…….

He just loves you. He wants to Help! -sincerely and with Love, Laura Grace

Do you feel ready to handle anything? (that comes your way?)

My personal dealings with Atheists on a mission

I know how to fight spiritual battles and I know how to win. I know how to cast out demons, I know how to resist the devil, and I’ve seen him flee.

But nothing can prepare you for the day you run into one of these die hard atheists bent on the total destruction of your faith. Christian, you had better be ready. They will say you are living a fairy tale. They will tell you how the bible conflicts with itself and doesn’t add up. They will baffle you with facts and give you evidence you never even knew was there. If your belief in Jesus is built on sand at all, the storm of their lies will find you. The ones I dealt with were shrewd and pretended to be interested in what you had to say, long enough to gather information.

Once they have gathered the necessary information on what you believe (and why) they will often feign curiosity and ask a question, appearing to be interested in what you have to say. Every encounter is designed to gather more information from you, and then anything you have said can and will be used against you in the court of accusations later on.

For instance if you say, “I don’t know” the answer to that question, later they will say something like: “You said yourself you didn’t know, so how do you know what I am saying is not the truth?”

They will back you into a corner. When it’s all said and done, you had better have a testimony to overcome with, because if you don’t, there’s a good chance you might fall under the weight of the flood of intellectual logic coming at you full force.

I know my bible well, and when a logical and seemingly intelligent atheist came along and I began to argue with them; I soon found myself buried under so much confusion, I could scarcely find my way out. Now; I won’t say there isn’t a devil, because the devil does help these sorts of people at times.

The stance they believe will draw them in. Evil spirits are drawn to a place of lies and unbelief, as much as the Spirit of God is drawn to a person sold out to Jesus Christ and his ways. You may very well cast a demon out, see results, and be all encouraged by this, but I can tell you right now, the person who wants to be corrupt will always become infiltrated with demonic help once again.

So why did I say an updated version? Because, only the Spirit of God can teach you what the bible means to that you can honestly stand up for God’s word. Without the Spirit of God you won’t be able to do it. Without the Holy Spirit’s help, you personally will not understand the meaning of the scriptures before you. If that happens, and you are cornered by one of these persons, you may feel overwhelmed or even sunk.

Learning to receive from God is more important than learning self-defense in the natural. It could mean life or death for your soul. The truth is however, most people will not seek a self-defense class until something almost happens to them, or actually does happen to them. The close call or even being a victim of a violent crime is what often propels people to seek help so it never happens again. This was the case with me, and this is what brought me into a spiritual crisis, which then led to prayers I would grow.

So what about you? Are you sure you would make it, with or without church gatherings?

Will your faith In God stand solid, come hell or high water? If you would like some help, I have some books out there, sharing what God has given me.

Why don’t I like…..Coconut cream pie?

coc pie

I don’t like Coconut cream pie. Why, you say? I have no idea! The main reason is, I don’t like the taste of coconut. Someone can try to convince me of the benefits of coconut, or try to tell me how good coconut really is (if they want to). They can tell me a splashy story of how “one day” they ate a piece of it and, it caused their day to be brighter. None of this is likely to move me, because, quite frankly, coconut disgusts my pallet. Every fiber of my body says “yuk, coconut! It doesn’t matter how much someone baked it, put their love into it, or even if they bought me a piece out of the goodness of their heart. I still do not LIKE coconut cream pie!

For many of us, we can relate and I am here to tell you: You don’t have to feel bad about what you don’t like right now. You don’t like church (maybe) or you do like church. You don’t enjoy a certain persons company, or perhaps a certain podcast, webcast, sermon, book or song does not appeal to you. So what? Find a different kind! Hey, in this case you don’t even need pie to make it to health; do you? Who cares how you get your vegetables? Butter, no butter, salt, no salt. Maybe you like cheese on top? Who cares how Christians get their food? There is a passage of scripture, it says basically, don’t make your brother stumble over this. “My pastor spoon feeds me really good!” (You might say) “And, I got what I needed.” Good! Now, unless you need coconut to live (and you could take it in pill form, and not pie form) what’s the big deal? These are the types of things Christians really should stop arguing about. What church is good (or not good) what book is good (or not good) so someone doesn’t like it? So what? Eat your God-blessed food and, enjoy! And Christian? If you are telling someone they have to go to that podcast, or that church or that particular sermon just because YOU Like it so much, guess what? You are in the wrong!

And if you want the scripture: Here it is:

Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. Romans 14:20
Ever feel like you want to be closer to God, but you just can’t get there? Maybe my book can help. check out http://www.amazon.com and look for Grace to Grow by Laura Grace. The study guide will be out in March to compliment this spiritual yet simple book. God bless you!

Healing (Praying dumb prayers?) Daddy (God) didn’t raise no dummy!

me in the lightGood Morning! (or afternoon, or evening) say I was talking to the Lord this morning, and he put this message on my heart. To a lot of people (who know me) I look like a real goofball sometimes, or even an air head.

Lots of people feel the need to “take me aside” and straighten me out, and I think it’s because in the natural, I really appear to need a big dose of common sense sometimes! I can relate to Paul, and to the other disciples. “Not many of you” It says, were noble or smart by the world’s standards. I know (that I know) in the realm of the Spirit, Daddy God didn’t raise no dummy! So, I want  you to pay attention to what I am saying here, because I am speaking as a minister (servant) of the Lord unto you right now.

When we have a cold, a cold sore, a blister, an ingrown toenail, or any other “little thing” Why do we not put into practice the blessing of praying for healing? Why do we not pray like it’s life or death? OH Laura, you may say (boy she’s really gone over the top now!) Wasn’t that a stupid question? (No, it really wasn’t). Yes, I know the answer! (I can see you now, saying it) “Because it’s not life or death, I know how to solve it.” I can hear you saying this, and I know people think it, because they try to straighten me out all the time!

Guess what? Maybe you need straightened out! Faith comes by hearing IN OUR SPIRIT) the word of God. This does not mean we try to loudly believe and strive to believe (No that is not what it means at all!) We believe because we practice believing on a daily basis, WITH EVERYTHING. A long time ago a minister said: “Faith is like a muscle you work it out.” I took that to heart and believed it. SO you know what that means? If I have a boo-boo or some little thing that bothers me (which a doctor or me could solve) I still prayed over it lie it was life or death! Why? The same reason you lift small weights in the beginning. Faith is a muscle (so to speak) and we have to “WORK IT OUT.” If I had a nickel for every time someone tried to “take me aside” and help me have “some sense” I’d be a rich woman!

oh but wait, I am a rich woman! You know why? Because I have so many testimonies of God proving His word to be true in my life! And do you know why? Because I pray about every little thing. And if People don’t want to hear it, I do it alone with my Heavenly Father. There is a passage in the bible “Elijah was a man like us and he prayed………”

for what? “not to rain, and to rain” I just quoted it last night to the Lord when I was praying. Why do you want be like Job In the bible or Father Abraham? They longed to see what we see, and to live in the day in which we live. They did not have the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to enjoy. WE have that opportunity. It glorifies God to be healed, to be provided for, and to have faith about everything that troubles or ails us. It glorifies God if yes he “helped us” get that splinter out of our foot. You have opportunities to exercise your faith every single day, so when (bigger) trouble comes you are stronger to stand against it. Are you practicing? or are you too prideful to “bother God” with the little stuff?

Yours in Christ Jesus,

Laura Grace, minister, author and friend.
