My Stance on V day (now-a-days) is different ……….
I know I know this seems like a terrible thing to say on Valentine’s day! But for those who do not get Valentine’s please listen! I used to be like this little whiney kid about V day and not getting hearts and flowers or necklaces or cards or whatever else from my Husband. He turns over his whole paycheck to see the bills paid and things taken care of.
I Pled my case with him a few years ago about how little girls dream of their sweet baboo giving them valentines’ and chocolates and how Television tells us all “That’s proof we are loved’ (if we get V day stuf!). ![]()
Somewhere in the middle of my tearful speech trying to make him feel bad, I realized i (who says I’m a Christian and not of this world) was trying to MAKE him follow the ways of this world. I was wrong and God is right!
😮![]()
He just got up and went to work again, Faithfully demonstrating his love as he does day after day.
Honestly I cannot bring myself to be upset anymore even if I tried. Deep down I know Getting a valentine or not is not proof I am loved one way or another.
Love is faithfulness, committment and daily decisions and I just can’t bring myself to cry like a small child anymore over how my husband didn’t let the ads on TV send him into a guilt filled frenzy to get me cards and flowers.
And I mean this! with all of my heart! I think it’s sweet we have a holiday decicated to love but I gotta keep it in perspective.
🙂 I’m really thankful there is not a “every-wife-has-to help-fix-the-car” Holiday! and what If I came home and found him in a pile of tears because I didn’t?

Building #9 The Miracle of Fruit! and being out from under the curse..
Did you know producing fruit in your life is actually a Miracle? I remember how before I gave my life to Christ and received becoming born again, I didn’t like people much. In fact I had a whole lot of hatred, animosity, judgement, and even bitterness in my heart.
After I got saved, I could FEEL the love of God rushing up out of my very being. At that time there was a song by Dallas Holmes “I got love, love, love in my heart, I got peace like a river, that never will part……..” (Love in My Heart, Dallas Holmes).
Anyway, I would sing that song and I really MEANT IT For the first time in my life. It was something I could feel, I could grasp it, and I WANTED to go run out and bless people who had hurt me, or who didn’t show love to me first. Why? Because The Love of God was SO REAL TO ME It just flowed out of me. I wanted to ABIDE IN HIM!
Abiding in Jesus in the Vine is GOING to produce fruit. You don’t even have to worry about it! He will trim off the dead branches and be your Vinedresser.
(John 15)
Producing Fruit is also the evidence the CURSE is broken. Jesus said he became a curse for us. In Matthew 21 he curses a fig tree (for not producing fruit). it withers and dies shortly after that. I believe that story is not only about the power of our words but also it’s an outward manifestation of what happens to us if we are not IN HIM. Without him we will wither (and die).
Jesus doesn’t want us cursed, and he paid a heavy price to REDEEM us from the curse of the law. Just like when you redeem a coupon, you have to receive it, grab hold of it, and literally cash it in with Him! YOU Have the power whether or not to utilized what He did for you. See in Deut 28 when he talked about them being blessed (Fruitful) WITH HIM and cursed WITHOUT HIM It’s saying exactly the same thing as John 15. In the gospel the shadow is just eliminated, but it is actually saying the same thing!
From the very beginning (Gen 1) God said “be Fruitful!” Not just in spirit, but the Body as well. (one comes before the other, you see?). To be fruitful we must live in the right environment with the Lord. IN HIM! Any man-made, phony balogna, MFG Fruit is not what Jesus was talking about. He alone can make us fruitful! Our part is to give up our own ways, and surrender to Him, and his work within us.
A Passage about being Fruitful: (2 Peter 1) 5 “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.“

Building #8 What is Integrity?

“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” Proverbs 10:9 “…In teaching, show integrity” Titus 2:7
What is integrity? It’s doing the right thing when nobody is watching. It’s having a moral compass or having ethics do to things the right way (according to God). The old sin nature it to just “see if we can get away with stuff.”
The best example of integrity toward ourselves I can think of, is the story of the three little pigs. The three little pig story shows us the end result of either cutting corners, taking the easy way, and so on and so forth. What I do not see is the brick building pig having an argument with the other two on “the best way to build.”
He did not have time for it!
In this series, we are talking about building things that will stand the test of fire and flood. Wood, Hay and Stubble they will suffer loss (1 Corn 3:12) so we are not talking about your eternal salvation here, but making wise decisions toward God.
People always want to know (It seems) “What’s in it for me?” Having integrity may not produce instant gratification or results. Like the Three little pig story, you may not “SEE” a house very quickly, when you are doing things one brick at a time. In the end however, you will see a fire proof house.
Integrity produces trust worthy ways in us. It may take a long while, but we will soon see people trust us, believe in us, and would trust us with their very lives, all because we have proven we have integrity.
I am sorry this process (seems) to take so long, but it’s worth it in the end! Proven integrity, and the willingness to walk in righteousness through thick and thin, is necessary to building a house that will stand in the storms. Not only that, if we want to be an effective minister for Jesus, We can’t really help anyone without a solid place to stand. Let them build their house of straw…..(If they want to) it’s not going to stand, so do not worry about it. YOU do the right thing for you! 🙂
I leave you with this thought, as we ponder why so many tell us “hypocrites’ Go to church…….Let’s not be one of them.
Please Father! Fill us with integrity! and the desire to press on, and believe it’s all worthwhile. Amen! Pastor Laura Grace

Once upon a time there was a girl….
Once upon a time there was this girl. She 30. She had two small children and a typewriter but she couldn’t afford any ink. God spoke to her and told her she would write a book someday.
She told her pastor he said “you need to know what kind of book”. She prayed about that too, and asked God, but did not receive a reply.Over 20 years later- when her kids were grown, she wrote her book while having two jobs and a busy life as Total domestic support to her husband.
She wrote an hour here, and an hour there, praying the whole time.
She submitted every page of it to two different ministers making herself accountable and opening up herself for critique.
That Girl is me, and the book is Grace to the Rescue.
It’s been republished 3 times now, the last time my friend spent hours re doing the cover. This is due to faulty publishing and typing errors (for which she received much criticism).
The book has been edited and prayed over again. She has not given up!
It’s a testimony of Grace more powerful than most can imagine. It’s a story of redemption, tenacity, faith, and hanging in there when the odds are against you……..
It’s a book about how GOD IS THERE no matter what through thick and thin. He provides, he does miracles, he sees you through when you refuse to give up on him helping.
LIke Jacob she hung on. Like the prodigal, she came home. Like Abraham she believed for a city that is of God. Like Joshua, she took the land, and like the women of faith she took the job of motherhood to be the highest calling on earth…….
And she fought the fight of faith along with her friends who love God too, and she prevailed in Him. She read the entire bible! She knows who the heroes of Faith are, and she strove to become like them.
Now I am highly honored that one of those ministers is featuring me on her page (Eagles Way Ministries) a woman who has stood in Faith with God for many years now, spending most of her free time in fasting, prayer and Study. And why does she do this, you may ask?
For the sole purpose of Doing God’s will For her life. For you see, she is in covenant with him, and so is her ministry partner, and so am I ……and Hopefully……so are you.
Yes I had to get divorced. It was not a union that was meant to be. It was destroying me. That is not God’s will for a person’s life. I moved over 20 times ad gave up everything to save this marraige. It was impossible. Irretrievably broken.
I had a woman in Wisconsin tell me she couldn’t put the book down it’s the only book she ever read besides her bible. I had others (Trish, Lorna, Lori, Jan and many others) Tell me what a great book it is. Leza edited it the very first time. Missy has been a huge support and cheerleader to me as well.
Thomas came to every book signing! I’ve actually had a lot of love and support but sometimes it’s easier to see the attacks when they are vehemently against you than all the love and support you’ve had.
Maybe I didn’t say how bad the suffering was or really get across Why I had to leave him….
But I had to. My children needed me to. They had to see me press on for better, and that abundant life God promised me. Otherwise, who would show them the way?
Sitting and being abused by your spouse is not a good path for your children to follow. So all naysayers out there, I don’t care what you think anymore. I’ve been free from that horrendous abuse for 16 years this year The same amount of years I suffered under it.
Let me tell you something; If you stand up to abuse maybe it will SAVE YOUR MARRAIGE! In my case it didn’t. Either way you shouldn’t Take abuse day after day and tell your children that’s God’s will for your life.
Not good. If you ever see YOUR child suffer abuse you won’t be so quick to say I should have stayed and took it forever. God’s word was never meant to be something that keeps us in a cage. Do you tell children if their parents abuse them “Obey them?” NO YOU get them out! why are people so scared of books about deliverance from a bad marraige? They are afraid it will cause everyone to “Run to sin” of divorce. That’s just silly.
I”ve been on this wall every day now proving to everyone I love God and how I”ve grown and AM growing. I wrote this book before they started having abuse stories on focus on the family. I had people act like I had the plague because I wrote it. It was painful but I am over it now. I will never apologize for my book again. I must admit for a time, since I’ve had more come at me pointing fingers and trying to make me ashamed than anything else, I did have regrets. Nobody has any idea how hard it’s been to keep my faith Going to BELIEVE I did what God told me to do. I will be justified in the end.
Thank you Lord for the support of Friends, true friends who have prayed for me through all of this. Love you friends!
Laura Grace and thank you Ministers Stace and Kay for your support al these years and for this honor:
Building in God #7 What is a Steward? Am I a steward of something? (read and see!)
Father please help us today to see what you see (In your Spirit Father) in Jesus’ name, amen”
So we are on part 7 now, (building with precious things) which is based on 1 Corn 3:12, that we should build with gems and gold (VS wood hay and stubble) if we want what we build into our lives to survive (the storms) and fires and floods.
Being Fire Proof! What a concept eh? I want to be (how about you?).
So what is a steward? Someone trusted (or in charge of ) something. Now, we do need to know if God has assigned us to this task. Our Job (we prayed for) now we are a steward of that. Our Home, our children, our dogs, cats, birds, even hamsters! Everything we are in charge of we have become a “steward” of that task.
God says if you are faithful with a little, you’ll be trusted with more (and more and more). Here is some scripture on this:
-
There are stewards of the mysteries of the gospel (1 Corn 4:1)
-
There are stewards over us, for a time until we mature (Galatians 4:2)
-
Stewards should be faithful or they can lose their jobs (1 Corn 4:2)
-
We are all called to be good stewards of something (1 Peter 4:10)
-
Laborers are Stewards so are Ministers. (Matthew 20:8 and Col 1:25)
I did not include the parable of the unjust steward (Luke 16:1) who almost lost his job! When I write my blogs I normally do not include a lot of scripture as God has called me to Speak plainly and exhort (vs detailed teachings) but what I say always comes straight from the word of God as it’s base (or source). We need to realize not only is God watching our stewardship, but it benefits US to have a job with Him In His Kingdom!
As in the show “Touched by an Angel” (which I dearly loved) we are all on assignment from God to be steward over something (or many things). These assignments are important. Our children, our dogs (cats) our homes and our jobs, as well as school studies God has assigned us to, people to pray for, meals to cook, money we have been given, and yes, ministries we manage and over-see, are all equally important to God. It’s all Stewardship.
So what’s the message? (you may ask?) “Stay at your posts!” Do it Faithfully! It will not only benefit others, but yourself as well. Precious gems take time and heat to develop, and as you stay faithful to what God has given you, the goal of building in the spirit with Precious things comes into play.
The goal is not for someone to be impressed by your life (as in others and their praise of you) but are you building things that will survive the storms of life? This is what matters most!
This is important, my friends! How can Jesus say “Well done, good and faithful servant,” If we are not good stewards over what he assigns to us?
I do hope this helps you “stick to your guns’ about Building on the Rock! And realizing that yes, in the long run, yes it is worth it to ‘do things right” in Jesus! You do have Time It’s not all for nothing! You will Stand when others cannot stand. so stick to it! 🙂 with love and blessings,
Laura Grace, author, Grace to Grow, and pastor in training, Grandma, mom, and steward of many things. Peace!
When your give a dang gets broken….. Jesus sticks up for you! And the sin of unjust criticism………..

I’m going to be transparent with you today. Sometimes if I have given (and given) all that I have, and someone gets critical about how I did it, There is a point where I just want to give up on giving at all. There is a song about it and it basically says “My give a dang is broken.” In the world of biblically-correct Christians, it’s not okay to say that. Leaders go through it (at times) pastors of all kinds, even Mom’s who love their children dearly, experience this phenomina. Pastors and Moms have something in comnon too: They don’t dare say so “in front of the children.”
I won’t go into the reasons, We’ll just say some days “it all adds up” on us until we reach the tilting point or boiling point, as we may call it. I took it out on someone who did not deserve my wrath (and it’s happened before) All because criticism when I have given it all I’ve got, tends to send me through the roof at times.
The passage “God loves a Cheerful Giver” was going through my mind. I decided I was not cheerful, so maybe I should not have given at all. Maybe I should not minister at all! I was about to give up, when Jesus came on the scene with his rivers of Living Water and Mighty flood of revelation!
He said to me “It’s what it cost you” that is getting to you.” And then “Criticism under that cirumstance, is a sin.”
The story of the widow’s mite came to mind. “She gave all she had to live on” Jesus said and not from her abundance, but she gave all she had.” (Mark 12).
I know what Jesus is talking about here. I had a friend who typed me letters of encouagement with braces on his hands, because the pain in his hands was so bad he had to wear braces to do it. I just had someone tell me of a gift they are sending that cost them “all they have.” If you’ve ever given your last minute, your only day off, your only 5.00, or given up your only vacation to do something nice for someone else, you know exactly what I am talking about. Smug little sinners with no clue say things like, “Well You should not Martyr yourself!” or they might use a different passage of scripture (God loves a cheerful giver!).
I have a friend that works full time, and even on weekends at times, but she uses what little free time she has to post helpful scripture on the internet. She Loves Jesus and she gives ALL she has to live on (her wee bit of rest time sometimes) to bless others. When I see someone going on her FB wall having to “correct her” with their “Opinion” I wish I could go and say, “What is your problem?”
My aghast response to their treachery, is not so far from How Jesus sees it. (He told me so!) However, he also lets me know that he sees every thing we give, and why.
When someone gives all they have, their last day, minute, breath, or even dollar, (in his Name for his purpose) he sees it, and he commends them for it. Why did Jesus commend that woman? Because, he wanted to get a point across about giving it all (and what it means to him!). Anyone who unjustly criticises those who are giving it all, are sinning against Jesus himself, not just that person.
Now I ask you? How many people are supposedly “anti-bullying” and yet unjustly criticise the Lord’s servants, who are giving it all they’ve got? So now, what to do about it? GIVE AS UNTO JESUS and let the geese that bite you on the nose after you have helped them, go find their own bread. We need to be about the Father’s business, and doing what he has said to do!
Later Jesus told his disciples “When you enter a house, speak peace to it and if they do not receive it, your peace will return to you.” Whatever you have done for others will be returned to you………No labor of love is in vain. (Jesus’ promised us this).
41 Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. 43
So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.” Mark 12:41-44

Building with Precious things (Continued)

The change must happen from within! We need Soul healing and restoration! We need God to CHANGE US to think LIKE HIM!
God’s going to have a church that speaks the truth once again, not molly coddling those who want nothing to do with Him. The excuses have to stop, And God will show and reveal “who is who” and what is what.
“Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he [stopped me and] said to me, “You must not do that; I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who have and hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God [alone]. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy [His life and teaching are the heart of prophecy].” Revelation 19:10 (When John saw an Angel)
Moldy twinkies and cheese from heaven

The Moldy Twinkies and cheese from Heaven:
I was just telling my husband about these Modly Twinkies we got one time from the food bank. Oh, they didn’t mean to do it I’m sure but I still remember almost taking a bite, to discovery there was mold on the bottom.
We’d had a fire, we got a food box from the food bank, and while I was grateful for the help what a disappointment it was! Horrors!
It wasn’t long after that, my young son was asking me about cheese (he really loved cheese, you see) we’d been through so much, lost almost everything we owned in that fire, including some recent Christmas gits that meant a lot. I had to say to my darling boy, “I’m sorry honey we don’t have any cheese.”
it’s hard to tell your kids you can’t do anything about anything, when your hands are tied and you can’t do anything about it. It’s heartbreaking, in fact. They look up to us, we’re supposed to have the answers.
I prayed outside (with tears) “Father I know this is a really dumb prayer, but can we please have some cheese!!?? I”ll never forget that day, or the next time we went to church a lady walked up to me and said “this is going to sound really stupid but, would you like some cheese?” ……..
I stood there, dumbfounded. Then I started to cry.
See, she didn’t know me. She felt this nudge to offer, but her brain probably said “Why would she want some cheese?” I”m pretty sure she was amazed when I started weeping and declared, “I just prayed for cheese!!” ……
That was the first time I remember God doing something for me (in answer to prayer) that was not NEEDED but it was just his love saying “Hey, I’m here, I heard you!” …..
Now when my brain says “Why would God do that for you?” (as I pray) I remember……
the cheese blessing.
Blessings and love to you all, Laura Grace, Author, speaker, Minister in training.
Peace!
You Can’t afford to be Offended
I want to share a little over a week ago God Led me to forgive some stuff. After I did it, I realized how many people I had let down in my life time. That was God’s Grace (TO ME!). I have to wonder,if my forgiveness allowed the Holy Spirit to reveal more to me about myself, and lift the blinders from my eyes.
We All have expectations of people.
Some is based on how we are raised, how we understand the bible, or whatever else. People can feel they are offering the help they have to offer, and you rejected it (or them) and I mean to tell you what, there are SO MANY THINGS the devil can (try) to turn it into an offense, I simply cannot list them all here.
I’ve had people reject what I had to say when I thought it was God’s will I said certain things. It hurts, because we think we are giving a gift, and it just got rejected. If it happens 100 times, we may be at risk of getting offended. You’d be suprised how many people have “rebuked me” when I talk about Growing In Christ.
There are some who believe getting saved leads to this “instant Jesus pudding” and we automatically grow, without any real participation on our part.
Growing in Grace is a message that is balanced, and between the “Auto Pilot’ thing and the “being under law” mentality. Growing up IN Christ is a sensible and sound message, but not a popular one.
Therefore, I am delivering a word God asked me to deliver …..and yet those who seem to have the pulpit do not always agree. Does it stop me?
NO! It will not! And, I must not get offended. If I do, I will ruin myself.
I”m so glad when people tell me things like, “I waved at you, you didn’t wave back”. So many times, I just did not see them wave at me!
There are times people forget, don’t hear us, or do not understand how important something is to us. (really). Don’t fall for the “all about me” mentality. It’s a monster!
Cartoon by Jeff Larson
Yes, there are times people have been little snots, but it’s not all that often. Most of the time when people hurt us, it’s quite accidental.
The important thing is that remain “not offended”. If I’m not, I can go foward in Christ.
Proverbs 18:19 says “A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.”
Don’t put your walls up. It’s just not worth it to miss out on what God has for you next.
