When Marriage Works. by Laura Grace

me and TImSo this is me, and Tim, we are goofing off in ND In this picture. I think we are at a car show, not sure!

I did say I would post today about Marriage, and when it works! First you have to love each other, for real. None of this “getting a wife” so you can remain an eternal child, or someone to mop up your messes because you are an addict who never plans to change or even get help, when it is offered to you.

You are not getting a wife to be a punching bag, not marrying a guy to be your meal ticket, or just because you’re afraid to be alone, or whatever else.

You don’t have to be a pastor and his wife, for things to work out. Nobody has a perfect marriage, I don’t care what they tell you, I do not believe it! Better, I think to have God in the middle, and to believe in prayer. I believe it increases your chances of making it, but that’s just me. I love Tim. He’s made me mad, made me sad, made me rant and rave, and he once roared away on a motorcycle because I upset him so much.

He once threw the title of our mobile home at me and said “I’d be better off without him.” I”ve called him names, cried, insisted he get up in the night to “Hash it out” with me in our earlier years. I make him breakfast almost every single day, a hot breakfast! He crawls around under the house just because I want a phone installed……..

with spiders……and he works in pain and in hot horrible jobs, to make sure I’m okay. He’s fixed all our vehicles, laying on the pavement in the hot, in the freezing cold, and read manuals for several cars to save us mechanic bills. He installs lights for me, Just because I want a different fixture. He listens to me, he used to hog the remote but not anymore! Have we had fights? Yes we have! Have we wondered sometimes if we made a big mistake? Yes again! But here’s the thing, WE love each other. He told me once “I see myself with you for the rest of my life” He prayed lots of times but in the beginning he prayed “Help us never lose the Joy and wonder of being together.”

I pray for him, all the time. He tells me “you are so good to me” (and really, I am!)

I’m not going to lie and tell you it’s all magical, but I will tell you this. I take marriage vows seriously. I take my promises to my friends seriously, and I most especially take my covenant with God VERY seriously! And, My willingness to Grow and my excitement over growing, and willingness to admit when I’m wrong….all that has helped us both!

Because I was in an abusive marriage for so long, I was a bit messed up. Not all the way messed up but, I was messed up. Our past affects us, whether we like it or not.  Most abused people, wind up feeling they have suffered enough and get a big attitude. I had one for awhile “mess with me, you are toast!” ……Not a good thing, not a good attitude if you want to grow. And Because God INTENDED we find the right spouse the first time, starting out in your 40’s is no picnic either!

I don’t believe in one person being always right and the other one is always wrong. Even in my past marriage situation, I made mistakes and with God’s help worked hard to correct ME and I never would have left if it had not been impossible to solve.

So, I do believe in marriage! And there will be ups and downs in all of them!

Communication is huge, Being humble, nobody calling all the shots, and being fair, Just, kind, loving …….OH MY GOSH! I Just realized you have to GROW To have a great marriage! Ain’t that a kick! And He has, and I have (grown, together).

Next March is 15 years together. Love You Tim! We have had so much fun together at times……but we are like that song “we can work it out, we can work it out” ……..(The Beatles) and with God’s help, we always do!

From me, Laura, your loving wife! (Thanks for Marrying me, and being my friend!!)

Divorce. that controversial subject!

drowning
Sinking person calls for help

I posted a video on You Tube today. It’s 10 minutes long, and it’s on the subject of Divorce. AND if you visit Grace to the Rescue, my site on FB you can find it, it’s the last thing I posted there, just today!

There’s a person I”ve been praying for, for several years now, and I just found out about the extent of abuse she’s been going through for years! IT was love that lifted her. God’s love, God’s unconditional love (and Mercy) Is what reached her heart. Not Scolding, not being told how much God hates divorce, and not a big lecture on how she married him so just stay put, and take it some more.

I fail to understand how so many Christians can reach out to drug addicts, homeless people, go overseas and minister to the masses over there, but fail to see a hurting person right in front of their eyes, that needs them desperately.

I have forgiven a lot of people who wouldn’t listen to me, who didn’t care. God showed me some of them were not in his will, I forgave them anyway. I prayed for them. But, I will tell you something, I’m not going to BE Like them! Jesus said not to! He said don’t be like those who sit in their seats in their self righteous ways.

Guess what? Even back then, the church (Temple) was running the show. Jesus did not preach there not for long! Why? They threw him out! SO, if you do go to church, find one that preaches freedom, restoration, healing, and love! K? And if you can’t find one like that, don’t go! That’s  my advice if you really want to know Jesus. He is real, he longs to help you! go watch my video if you have time.

Love and prayers, Laura Grace

Demolishing Strongholds, without being a bull in a china closet!

bull

It’s not what we are doing, so much, as the way we do it, that gets us in trouble.

You can stand up for Jesus, without being a bull in a china closet!

You know, a few years ago, I was working for this place, and had told my boss I am a Christian, and a prayer warrior, and I told her I was praying for her to prosper, and her business too.

She said, “That’s fine, but just so you know, I had someone like that one time, who asked if she could pray (for my business) and I found her and her friends in a circle, at 9 in the morning, praying out loud in the office.” She continued saying, I believe, but some of my customers don’t believe, and frankly, she was not doing a good thing, I told her to stop!”

So I went in early each day, prayed for her business (and for her) when nobody was around. I anointed things with oil, and me and the Lord made a lot of declarations over that place.

And guess what? ALOT OF supernatural stuff happened! It did! One prayer  I told her about was answered, 2 years later…….

1 Peter 2:12 talks about honorable conduct. 2 Timothy 2:25 talks about humility, and how we go about things. 1 Peter 2:20 talks about how if we are beaten (for our faults) It’s not really commendable.

Ecclesiastes talks about not being overly righteous, and ruining ourselves.

So then, we have Kim Davis, the famous icon, stander-upper for Jesus! In case you didn’t know, she refused to issue marriage licenses, and was commended by many, yet she was also thrown into jail, for a time.

I saw a documentary, I did listen to the other side of the story. Did you?

Apparently, she was asked by these two gay men, “Haven’t you issued licenses to murderers, child molesters, thieves?” This in response to her stance, that she could not in good conscience, Issue a license to gay people.

What if I refused to sell a car to gay people, or a house? What if I didn’t even know they were gay? How does her stance line up with the plumb line of true justice? And I’m sorry but, they were right! Yes, I do wish they were not gay, but boy howdy, we need to grow!

The Early church (Apostles) were jailed because of signs and wonders, and not so much for what they preached, but the alarm over how many people were actually following them!

Sorcerers were put of business. Jesus was asked to leave town, because demons going into a herd of pigs, was just too much for them.

Little kids with big swords, shouting over the top of people “I AM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS” are not going to win the battle.

I’m sorry, but her actions did not represent Christ, and if she can’t do this job with a clean conscience, she ought to have resigned from the job. And whether we like it or not, the gay people had a point. And, my ex-boss had a point, and Christians, come on now!

If we force our beliefs on others, how are we any better than those who do the same for any other religion? We are not a religion! We are Christians! Anointed ones! Believing for a demonstration of the Spirit’s power! Amen?

We all want a hero, but we need a wise hero. I”ve seen a lot of miracles, signs and wonders. Many I have never talked about, except to my Friends. Many were instigated with a bottle of oil, prayers, and a whole lot of faith, in secret, and in private, with God and I working together. My Hero is Jesus, and I am praying for signs and wonders to follow me.

How about you?

SO…..If this is from God, why isn’t anyone else saying it?(Great Question!)

NO SPIRIT OF FEARUS! Who was this passage talking to? (THE EARLY DISCIPLES OF COURSE!) And why did they need that word?

Because, they were venturing out! Saying things nobody ever said (before) Other than some prophets of old, and Jesus of course. But, did they say it JUST HOW Jesus said it? Do you see the Disciples looking in their notes, (what did Jesus say again?) and then quoting him directly? Or, do you see them writing books, getting revelation from the Holy Spirit, and even expanding on what Jesus said? NOT Making up new doctrines mind you, But the basic Gospel SEED which was planted in Jesus, grew up in them!

And, when they did start speaking, talking, doing signs and wonders……do you see Jesus coming along saying, “Now, is that what I showed you? I told you to put mud in his right eye, not his left!” “Now, I SAID Peace be still” To the winds and waves, why are you saying “CALM DOWN” (and get all on their cases for being THEM In Christ?)

Laura, why are you yakking about this? I will tell you. It doesn’t matter if TD Jakes said it, (What you are going to say right now) Or if Kenny Copeland Said it, or if Joyce said it, or if even your pastor said it. Guess what? They can’t cover all the bases. WE ARE A TEAM For Jesus (the Body of Christ) so let’s get out there, cover all the bases, not be afraid of doing it AND HELP TEAM JESUS Win! Amen?

John the Baptist was a forerunner, got his head chopped off! HE announced the coming of Jesus. WHY? That was his job, assigned by the Holy Spirit and, HE DID IT! Praise God!

But then here came Peter…..John, and the others ……..And you know what they saw? They saw YOU coming in the future! So they wrote things down FOR YOUR SAKE! Out of love! (FOR JESUS, and for you) and they had no hope of SELLING Those books back then either. But they wrote them anyway! Aren’t you glad they did? Aren’t you glad they spoke, even if many thought they were nuts, at the time?

SO Let’s not be scared of each other……if we belong to Jesus, we are family! And let’s not be afraid to at least listen, to what others have to say (for his names’ sake) amen.

If you want to publish a book, I will help you, free of charge. FREE OF CHARGE! Just ask me and I will do my best to help.

Love and blessings,

Laura Grace

Miracles and Justice obstructers who quibble over details……

funny-protest-signs-15.pngThere’s an old saying, “lead me, follow me, or get out of my way!”

Here lately, I have been noticing again, people’s propensity toward arguing.

Jesus dealt with it too, just in a different way ….

Father God summed it up for me one day in my Study time with him when he said, “My way is not to argue and fuss over how to do something, or pick apart how people do it.”

The Pharisees were always so worried about details. Quibbling about it. “Is he supposed to be healed on Sunday?” “Is that really godly?” People feel very free to just dive in, and it’s their God given duty to tell us WHAT we should believe in. Many of them, the very same people who defend their own freedom of speech, pounce on others, telling them how wrong they are! It’s amazing! This to them apparently, is helpful somehow?

“Did you know your socks don’t match?” (Helpful hint for today?) Maybe I only have two socks, and these are it!

There are justice obstructers out there, and they quibble over details, all the time.

THEY STOP THE RIVER OF LIFE, from flowing!

These are the sorts Jesus got upset at. I never once saw or heard of him saying “come on boys, I heard someone down the street is about to commit a sin. “Let’s go stop them!” never heard him say there should be a law against this, Never once heard of him saying, “Hey, you are not in church today, YOU SLACKER!” …………

I have never heard of the ministry of arguing (from Him), jumping on people’s cases, or like Doc Lynch recently said on his face book page “getting wrapped around the Axel” over things people say. Think about that one! If someone is aruging and fussing over what we say, instead of listening, or trying to discover maybe why we said it, all they do is stop the vehicle from moving forward. So back to what I said, Lead me, Follow me, Or get out of the way! I’m willing to explain why I believe what I believe, in a peaceful discussion over it!

Anyone who is not this way, who has to holler over the top of you, rant and rave, freak out, call you names, or any of this kind of stuff, is definally NOT a person I want to follow.

I want someone who leads me to Peace, into Righteousness, into Love, and into a deeper understanding of my Heavenly Father.

Becoming Miracle Minded #1 Don’t fear false hope……

MIRACLES DO HAPPN

Dear Father in the name of Jesus I pray….be with me today as I share this message and give me living hope, that what I say shall prevail, over every scheme of the enemy, and that it will help pull down strongholds, break barriers, crack doors wide open, and break every chain of bondage. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

“Don’t get your hopes up,” ever heard that expression? It’s a definite self-preservation stance. There are people who will risk rock-climbing, bungee jumping, or most anything dangerous, and yet they fear one thing the most: FALSE HOPE.

There are atheists who believe we must protect ourselves from this, and there are Christians who are far more terrified of “looking like a fool” than they are of death itself.

Don’t kid yourself, every minister of God who ever stepped out in Faith, said things like “you will get your miracle today,” faced the fears of false hope, before they ever said it.

I lost count of how many times I looked into the precious faces of my children, and they said to me “mom, what are we going to do?” (For we went through a lot of turbulence in our lives,” and my heart and mind would pray “Father please don’t allow me to give them false hope, show me what to say!” “Father please I need you to be with me, before I ever open my mouth!” ……

Well, He was always there………

But, where do these fears come from? I will tell you. Mostly, they come from those who did carelessly dish out false hope (In times past). Someone said everything would be okay and it wasn’t, or they said everything will be just fine and, it wasn’t fine.

However, that’s no excuse, for me anyway, to give up on the possibility of miracles, every single day of our lives. Signs and wonders follow those who believe (for miracles) Not those who do not believe for them. It’s very clear! So Let’s ask this question then,

Father, what miracles do you want me to believe for? Because I know you want me to believe for them! I know you are a miracle working God! This way, we have both submitted ourselves to God, (book of James) and we are resisting the devil, who says we should be afraid to hope…….

I have yet to meet a true believer who was ever sorry they had faith……..Sooner or later, regardless of the outcome, their faith is honored by God. They may not get it how they thought, when they thought, or maybe didn’t have quite the outcome they thought….

But a miracle did happen! I have seen it too many times not to believe this, with all my heart……..With love and affection, and I will say this again, don’t fear false hope! It’s not the damaging monster it claims to be.

#2 Contraceptives Were illegal? A man of God AVOIDS EXTREMES!! Word of Wisdom……for you and I.

a beautiful light house.jpgI was watching a show last night (documentary) and learned that for a long time, contraceptives were illegal, in the United States of America. I was watching in dismay, as I heard how this man tried to pass out contraceptives, and was arrested, even put in jail over it!

Many Christians believed (back then) it should be illegal, and were putting sure they were in God’s will to put up such a fight.  This was Extreme. (see the passage, Ecc 7:8)

AS God still says, a man who fears God, avoids all extremes. Now, you can ignore it, cast this wisdom off from you, but it’s Still a Word of God’s Wisdom, for us today.

What happened was, ONE MAN in a position of leadership, with great confidence in his beliefs, stood up and talked about why contraceptives should be illegal. He reasoned that Women could become promiscuous, or that they were not doing the will of God, and for a long time, many were on his side.

Women, through the years, have been made slaves by many, victims of abuse, untold suffering, and denied the freedom in Christ (to choose) and not so much today, but at one time, yes, they were denied much freedom.

We were designed to serve, love, nurture, but then again, so were men! Before the fall of Adam, men had all the attributes of God in their lives. God never intended for men to be brutal taskmasters, toward anyone! The next time you are thinking God is into your rally, just remember, what is justice to one, may be unjust towards another……..

NONE OF US Understands the full spectrum or scope of JUSTICE in it’s purest form, without seeing through the eyes of God the Father and Jesus, his son.

this is a word of Wisdom, for you and for me. Stop and consider, before you jump on the bandwagon for what you consider to be Justice. Amen.

Are we off to see the wizard…for a heart? Grace to grow series, Part 1

wizard of ozYou remember the Tin Man, right? He wanted to see the wizard about getting himself a heart. Now, don’t dwell on that thought too long (the movie, I mean) But just where do we go now days to get our heart back for Jesus?

Some who read this, have never known him. Some will think, they already do. Just because we know about someone, does not mean that we know them. I know My husband pretty well, and I also know ABOUT HIM. Intimacy comes from interaction.

If I went to a building each week, to learn about my husband, even for hours at a time, should I commend myself for this? Do I know him now, because I have been informed about Tim at length, and in vivid detail? HMMM

Dorothy Got to know the Tin Man, at least to a degree, and became friends with him. And let’s say, they were off to see GOD about his heart, instead of this wizard.

I wonder if God would have said the same thing to him: “You already have one, you just needed to discover who you are, in me!”

The Wizard of Oz really is a powerful story, about a Journey, a dream, friendship, and how there is “no place like home” with the people who know and love us. I can almost see God watching that movie with me saying, “See, She got no real answers from the wizard, did she?” “No Lord, she didn’t” I would say.

God is love. He doesn’t come thundering down on us and scare us half to death, WHEN We are in a spirit of just seeking and learning and trying to grow.

His wrath is reserved for those who not only refuse to seek him, hear him, or know him, but they continue to try and thwart everyone who TRIES! I understand the wrath of God and where it comes from,

because it happens to me whenever someone messes with my children, or my loved ones.

Just remember, sometimes you are seeking something from the Lord, He will show you it’s right there in your own back yard, or it was right there, in your own heart, the whole entire time. He just wants to draw it out! Simple! The things of God are really so very simple it will blow you away sometimes! Love and prayers….

Worried about America? Upset at how things are? I know, I was too for awhile….

a beautiful TREEhi! Laura Grace here! Yes, I get upset sometimes too, I really do. Scared? Yes, I am easily frightened without God’s help. But, here’s the thing. Fear brings Anger, Anger gets out of control (super easily) that rages out of control. We lose our peace, satan comes along and says it’s their fault, not our fault, if only THEY would straighten up and stop upsetting us this way! Oh My!

SO I asked God, (yesterday) Tell me what to read Father, what do you want to say? One word came to me. “Galatians”. It says the works of the flesh are obvious. Envy, Pride, lust, self-righteousness…….(the list goes on.) What’s the solution?

It’s not that we are taking a lukewarm stand against sin, or that we don’t care what’s going on in this world, but there is no getting around the fact, that God tells US to Grow! When we find ourselves feeling like the fruits of the Spirit, walking in righteousness, or learning of Him is too PASSIVE For our taste…..

There is something wrong. WE are supposed to be taking the land (Of our own soul) and expanding the territory of our own minds, TAKING THE LAND (of us) For Christ!

This will never change. God isn’t making any exceptions, to his rule.

We will not make a difference until we are more like him (First).

And, Anger can (and will) lead to sin if you are not careful……….

So, when someone tries to get me all upset (at the things that are happening) I want you to know, I am not sticking my head in the sand. I simply choose Jesus, and he said TO GROW! (and I am not done yet, and never will be,) Amen! -Laura Grace

PS choosing this road……TAKES GUTS! Amen
