In the eye of the storm….A Miracle Story!

IRMA SNAKETHIS is a True story….

My friends in Fla last year were faced with quite the decision when
a hurricane warning came to their area. They work at a trailer park
and began to receive warnings about a big storm (Irma). They are
prayer warriors and follow God’s will for their lives, no holds barred.

At some point as the threat was increasing, some officals came, and
said there is a mandatory evacuation. My friends and the persons at
the park were told they needed to leave, or they would die.

The saints would not be moved and stood their ground, even asking
the Lord the power would not go out. As the wall of the hurricane
came barrelling toward them, they prayed and put their hope and trust
in God. Not only were they not destroyed, and no lives were lost-but
the power did not go out.

Many did comply with the evacuation but a few did not.

God’s faithfulness
to his word once again prevailed “in the eye of the storm.”

(Shared with permission)- It was on my heart to share this testimony
about how God came through in a situation that was life or death. There
was very minimal damage to the park, and can we just give a shout of
glory for people who trust God, stand their ground and pray?  LG

Halleluiah! Glory to God! we praise you Father for your wonderful works!

Psalm 107: 30-32

He calms the storm,
So that its waves are still.

Then they are glad because they are quiet;
So He guides them to their desired haven.

Dodge the Stampede!

BUFFALOs.jpg

!

Stampeding (When someone “stampedes’ your blessing)

I just feel led to share this today. If you saw a herd of buffalo about to stampede the church building, you would shut the door, holler for Help……And keep them OUT would you not?

A stampede of fools is like a herd of buffalo. There are those who have this “gang mentality” and you cannot LOVE them out of it. You have to get out of the way. Shut the door! Keep them OUT Of your heart and your mind! Do not allow them to trample everything God has put inside your heart (as you open your heart to their treacherous doings!) ….

It’s okay in this case to stop TRYING to love, and just shut the door, get out of the way……Let them stampede on..

For those bent on foolishness there is no other way. Do you think you can stand in the face of a buffalo herd and keep it from Trompling you? No!

Then stop and think about what you are doing before you try to deal with these “stampeders” in the realm of the spirit! Get out of the way! They will not respond to your loving words (and not even to God’s words)

for right now…..you’ll just have to let them go..

a now word (Laura Grace) Author, Grace to the Rescue, Grace to Grow, Grace to Soar

He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed. Prov 13:20

The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.Prov 3:35

The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness Prov 15:14

A prudent man conceals knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness. Prov 12:23

Grief and Pain (no, you are not stupid).

tears and sorrow

Having Grief and Pain (You’re not stupid!)
One thing I’ve not been known to ever do, is to call people’s
feelings stupid (or dumb, or even wrong). I’ve learned some
times the hard way our feelings should not dominate us, but
at the same time, I know we have them. Grief comes in many
forms, and sometimes people who can’t cry get very angry
instead. Maybe they won’t cry because someone said it’s
stupid, or maybe because it embarrasses them.
You won’t catch me telling you there are right or wrong things
to grieve about either. These ideas such as “There are starving
children somewhere” so be grateful for your plate of liver” or
platitudes such as: “Well at least you are alive, or if one of your
children died, you still have the other” do not really help people
feel better. Do they? Not very often. I would say mostly, not.
People hire therapists in part, because they fear telling friends,
family, and yes even pastors at times, their deepest thoughts
and fears. They have grief and want to get over it. Sometimes
the grief “seems to be” over something stupid. The fear that
someone will call them stupid, makes them want to hide.
“I AM SO STUPID!” (I have said that myself) When I am very
frustrated for giving that person another chance (and they did
that to me again!) Or I dared to dream, and now I’m disappointed
(again for the 14th time, or even the 100th time).
I should never say that but, I have. Why? Why do we chastize our
selves like that?
#1 We see others getting over it, so we think we are failures
#2 We think our grief is “stupid” to begin with. (not important).
#3 We don’t understand where this grief is coming from or even how to stop it.
Therapy sometimes goes too far in perpetuating our grief, (getting
us to feel sorry for ourselves, which can lead to depression)
God tells us to “be of good cheer” but sometimes, we can’t. We
are sad. We need to cry. It’s called grieving.
King David danced, but he also wept about sin and disappointment.
Jeremiah wept over the sins of God’s people.
Jonah got depressed because God did not destroy Ninevah after he
delivered a word that it would be destroyed. Job got depressed too.
I believe part of soul-healing is talking about it. Whether you talk to
God about it, or someone else. Ministers like TD Jakes talk about their
soul being torn, ripped apart, dreams going out the window, and feeling
like God didn’t care (for awhile) about their pain. This is why people love
to read their stories. They can relate.
We need teachers and we need prophets, but we need pastors too.
Pastors tend to be nurturing people. They love and tend to the sheep.
If they are not this way, perhaps they should not have been pastors.
But in the world of men, There are not any paying postions for a lot
of the other ministries (which is sad). They are forced to ask for money
continually, because nobody offers them a home, or a paycheck.
Those people have dreams too (you see) And it’s a heart to reach the
lost, the hurting, the broken, and the dying. They can’t get there without
someone’s help. I just put one of my dreams on the Altar, because unless
God sends a way to provide for it, I just can’t do it anymore.
It’s called “Authoring books” to reach the hurting. I can’t afford what it costs anymore, so I have to stop. My paychecks are like .01 (last quarter) for this endeavor. I’ve been doing it for 7 years now, and it pays nothing. And it’s okay but it still hurts to have dreams come to an end. I have to stop now. Until God provides for it. If he doesn’t, oh well! I will still love him just the same.
And no I don’t want sympathy- but I have some grief right now. God will
surely bring me out of it too. He always does! He is faithful! I have faced many disappointments in my life. And I will live through this one, too.
As a minister and a child of God I find that “letting go” is one of the most
painful things I have ever experienced. Letting go of what you know is bad
is hard, but letting go of something you thought was good is even harder.
I am reminded of the following scripture in regardes to self-preservation.
When you are done grieving, consider putting it all in God’s hands.
We really are better off to put our lives in the Lord’s hands and say “Thy will
be done, thy kingdom come, on earth, as it is in heaven.” Amen.
Today is November 1. Happy Author’s day. I just layed my 7 year Journey
of writing books at the Lord’s feet.
Matthew 16:25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake, will find it.  Peace out (for now) Laura Grace

“It’s not all about you!” What to say to some who never seem to get enough (attention) or whatever else ……..

Ever had one of those days? Someone you are trying to help (or encourage) just never seems to get enough? Reminds you of kids (at times). I compared it to geese (so long ago) as I was feeding some geese, and as I ran out of bread, (which I now understand you should not feed them bread) but in any case they surrounded me, got closer and closer, and one even tried to bite my face!

RESCUE POSTER call for help

The bible compares a fool and his folly, to being met by a bear robbed of her cubs.

Proverbs 17:12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.”
MAYBE THE BEST THING is to say nothing at all.
Honestly, a person who will not listen to reason, who does not care what God (or anybody else) thinks, Who has decided they are wise or right in their own opinion, My bible says also “there is more hope for a fool, than for him.”
This is not a person you should be taking advice from, or following. It’s not a person who should be in charge of you, or one you should even submit to. Even Abigail (in the bible) though she did it in a reverent way, went to meet King David and obey God, even though her husband was foolish, and was going to bring trouble upon the whole family. King David was so impressed, he married the woman.
Proverbs 26:12 “Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope for a fool than for him.”
It’s a snare to be caught in the snare of a fool’s words or a fool’s folly.  Consider these words from Jesus who WAS before Proverbs was even written: They are words penned by the Holy Spirit to God’s servant upon this earth:
“Proverbs 6:5 Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler. “
You can be snared by words, or promises you should not have made.
Another passage of the bible says to free ourselves from vows, that should never have been made. See, we need to look at the whole (entire) bible not just the parts we want to read Or hear right now. The whole Bible. All of it.
Jesus IS His word!
The more we know of his word, the better we will know him. The Better we know him, the better he knows us and has fellowship with us.
So love? Yes! Being snared by those who don’t love God? NO!
Did you see anyone allowed to take Jesus Down from who he was to please them or their folly? NO WAY No how!
We should not do it either. Father God please keep us in your wisdom! And Grace!
Amen

The silent cries of an anguished heart………

rescue meDid you know it’s super important to let God have your tears? Your Pain? Your disappointment? oh you don’t have to. You can drink, do some drugs, go on a wild rampage, if you choose to do so you could even kill someone (go to prison) Whatever you like! Shocking, isn’t it? YOU CAN do whatever you wish! Who’s going to stop you?

That’s the scary part. (Free will!) Free will scares me more than anything, especiallyl my own. You probably already figured out we live in a world where more and more people are saying “I can do what I want, be what I want” get out of my my way!” People hurt us, let us down, reject us, ignore us, take things out on us,

And- all kinds of things happen (every day) There is no cut and dried solution. Yes I know what the bible says “Love suffers long” (How long?) Love is patient and kind (but I don’t feel like loving today!) I am tired (the heart screams) I need a harvest! I can’t take anymore! The demands are constant! It never ends! We wear masks because nobody wants to hear it. SO we put on a brave face and march forward, doing the best we can (with a brave face, and the heart screaming!)

Finally by the grace of God we find a friend, a true friend we can confide in. They understand. Our hearts cry with relief. Finally, someone understands me! Maybe it’s because they have walked that path we are walking right now, or maybe it’s because they prepared their heart to minister in THAT particular area…..

But later on……(much later) we find out they can’t handle this other thing we are going through, so they lash out at us, and don’t know what to say…….and the magic is gone, so to speak. It happens to all of us (if we are honest)

Sometimes Life on planet earth throws so much at us (one thing after another) It staggers the mind, rips at the heart, and leaves us all in pieces. We don’t understand what people are going through all the time no matter how much we THINK we know the answers. We don’t know if that one more thing was almost the end of them. They don’t always know one more thing was almost the end of us…….

There is only one person I know I can always depend on. God. Father God. Abba Father. I know those who think I’m some headhunter for Jesus do not understand this either. All I can hope is after he’s picked me up for the 1000th’ time and breathed his life into me once again, that I will someday run into to someone, somewhere I can share how he helped me…….and in turn, they too can be helped.

For me, this is life worth living. Receiving from him and breathing his life onto others ……Life is short “I want to live it well” as the song says…….

SONG HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ_UZMYp3mI

Which means I don’t have time to stay angry, or mourn too long, or wallow around in my troubles. I don’t have time to hold grudges, or wonder why that person did what they did. I just have to move on, and follow jesus …..

And here is what I have to say to you now. HE WILL HEAL YOU SO YOU CAN GO FORWARD WITH HIM! He WILL DELIVER YOU FROM ANYTHING THAT KEEPS YOU FROM HIM! Trust me when I say he didn’t die a bloody death to see you LEFT OUT of his Kingdom! He will break you out, break you free and make a way for you TO FOLLOW HIM! To the ends of the earth and wherever he takes you.

I can say this because I’ve lived it. And yes I know about all those silent screams that say WHY WHY WHY WHY God WHY did this or that have to happen? Well somtimes it’s just free will. God cries over those who run away from him too. God hates it when they hurt you too.  Yes he wants to fix the misunderstandings but sometimes there is not time for it, or someone isn’t ready to hear what they need to hear (Yet) So ….Let it go, let him Heal (your heart) give him all the pieces…

and march on. “Father if you help one person go foward today because of this message I praise you” I really praise you” to the one reading this heal their heart bind up their wounds and let them go free today Father” IN Jesus’ name I pray. amen Laura Grace Author, grace to the rescue and others available on Amazon

No labor of love is in vain……..but let’s define love again, shall we?

LOVE BLACK AND WHITE.jpgLet’s define love again, Shall we? the 1 Corn way.

1 Corinthians 13:6
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
I can still hear Margeret Becker, playing on my cassette deck singing, “NO Labor of love is in vain…….precious jewels are changed to jewels in the rain……” (Never for Nothing, by Margaret Becker). I can remember how hard it was to beleive that. My book Grace to the Rescue, is only available on Kindle right now. It was my first attempt at authorship and no…I didn’t go to school for writing, and no publisher approached and me and said “Hey, you should write a book.”

It came about because I could not tell my story without constant interuptions.
I would say what I’d been through, people would quote 1 Corn to me, and tell me I should read it. I read it 1000 times (or more) and, I lived it.
And no I’m not living in the past. I was on auto-pilot, trained to love, by the church and others. I stuck up for my church zealously too, I might add, and for those that advised me poorly.
When People saw the abuse I was going through I thought standing up for 1 Corn 13, was standing up for Jesus! Nobody, and I mean nobody, was ever going to get me to give up on believing for my marraige to last.
Now that I have been (gasp) divorced, and yes re-married (for 15 years) I have added forgiving all the crazy, inconsiderate, mean-spirited, and even clueless people who tormented me for years with the very passages of scripure I loved.
I fell in love with God’s word when I became born again 30 years ago. It came alive to me. My family will tell you I would not shut up about Jesus, and I would not stop witnessing and praying for people either. Thousands of times (Thousands) I said “THANK YOU FATHER FOR Healing my marraige!”
You have to remember, Jews were brought up in God with their parents inolved in the marraiges, along with many teachings about marraige. Nobody ran to a court house and got a certificate, back in those days, nor ran to Vegas and woke up saying “what did I just do?” There were serious laws (from God) about how a man treated his wife, and laws for the wife and children as well.
There was not crazed druggies making their spouse’s lives a living hell every day, after they married them in a spur of the moment decision on a court house lawn.
We’ve learned to say things (like little parrots) and it needs to stop. God hates divorce. He hates sin. He hates that you married the wrong person. He hates that you didn’t know him when you were young…….
He hates sin, because it seperates us from him. Living in sin on purpose keeps us apart from him and he loves us so dearly, he sent his son to die for us. Sin is walking in constant error, deeming something to be more important than he is. God told Adam and Eve not to eat from that tree, (of knowledge of good and evil) and they did it anyway.
If you are abused, God loves you. He wants to help you. He came to make the captives free.  Yes I did 16 years of working on me, changing me, before I ever walked out that door. Yes I learned to love to forgive beyond 70 times 7. And I don’t regret it, but I did need to get out of there. Better to lose your hand or foot (spiritually speaking) than to be dragged to hell with them.
Maybe you won’t have to get divorced, maybe you will. I don’t know. But God loves you enough to say, “You matter.” I made my laws for you, to protect you, because I love you my dear.” He said these words in his Holy Word: “I made the sabbath for man, not man for the sabbath.” Think about that for a minute, will you?

She gave up her life and found it…. The fascinating story of Abigail……

In First Samuel 25, we find leadership

A fascinating story……

One that answered many questions for me, years ago when I was seeking the Lord about whether or not he ‘hated women” in old Testament times. Hey, not a dumb question! If you are female and read the Old Testament stories, it can be quite disturbing!

Abigail was married to a man who was “of the descent” of Caleb, one of the two men, who took the land after Moses died. (Joshua was the other.) So her husband had a history of family, that trusted God.

Now, her husband refused to help King David (and his men) which was both a crime and a sin, at that particular time in history. HE KNEW the RIGHT he was supposed to do, yet refused to do it. In the new Testament it says “if you know to do good and refuse, to you it’s a sin.” Never thought of sin this way before? It’s the truth!

Now, Abigail did an amazing thing. She loaded up the donkeys with everything King David asked for (and then some) and bowed at his feet and said “Let this sin be upon me” and she pleaded for her husband’s life. See, King David was going to kill him for his infraction.

And, she did it without her husband’s permission. So, she was not submitting to his evil ways, at the time. so much for the “always submitting theory, eh?”

I believe she was walking by the SPIRIT, AND she was living the words of the NT that Jesus said, “He who gives up his life for me, will surely find it.” I think she was walking by the Spirit because, we see no LAW in the OT that tells her to do what she did here. No 11th commandment, no former example for her to follow. Just the Spirit of God.

King David was so amazed, he not only commended her, but married her as well. Her husband’s heart turned to stone, which tells me he used to have a heart for God, but had lost it. 10 days later, the Lord stuck him dead physically, he was already dead spiritually by then. Abigail brought hope to me during a very difficult time in my life. A time when I was reading passages like “He who seeks to save his life will lose it, He who loses his life for my sake, will find it.” (Jesus). I too, once asked that someone’s sin be “upon me” and pleaded for their life. Instead of me dying, I was allowed to go free……….
